So here we are.  In wanting to write a quick follow up to my post from a couple of days ago on avoiding anxiety and panic in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, so much has happened in the last 36-48 hours that I am running to keep up.

To begin with, as a licensed therapist, I find I am as busy as ever!  But, of course!  The world is stuck inside and that includes me. About a week ago, I implemented a 100% very busy with tele-therapy sessions.  My current clients - just like you - are dealing with a variety of concerns:

  • If you live far from relatives, it's not uncommon to wonder if you should get up and go 'to' them, given the various 'shelter in place' orders.
  • Parents - who don't have access to affordable child care - pulling their hair out trying to work and care for their school aged children at home.
  • Managers concerned how will their staff stay calm given the imposed isolation that many of us aren't used to.
  • Health care workers on the front lines of client care hearing about (or experiencing) protective gear shortages.
