"Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before, but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God."
- Ram Dass
I am working with my own business coach right now to focus in more deeply on who I'm supposed to be serving 'most' right now. Sound a bit woo-woo-y? Don't I already know 'who' I help?
Well my status as a therapist or coach may be enough if you aren't yet convinced that there is a larger plan at work in our lives.
You see, those of us who doubt traditional religion or spirituality can also be those who feel we are 'spiritual beings having a human experience'. To me, for example, where I don't believe in any quaint books, I feel in my bones we are here for greater reasons than just 'working for a living'. The scourge of 'cog in the wheel' jobs and even high engagement jobs that don't relent both lead us to soul-less distraction.
I know more WooWoo. Oh well...take me (and my opinions) or leave them...LOL
If you are still intrigued and following what I'm saying I invite you to realize that there seems to me to be something grander going on and in my last post on 'fit' I hinted at it a bit.
I hope to say much more, but just let me say that what's most exciting to me about my work today is figuring out where I 'fit' now. You see, apparently that's a 'never ending story'. We can constantly go deeper into why we are here and what we are doing about it.
Therein lies the greatest joy. That I can tell you. Your conscious self wants something 'greater' for you. It does. And yet, that greater is right there in front of you. You don't have to grasp for anything. Just observe and listen to yourself and your world more closely.
Why? Because when you are fully 'dialed in' or 'on'; meaning when what you are doing is so enjoyable and engaging and meaningful you enter a natural high called flow.
To share where I am going with this I give you now a video on the founder of the term 'flow'. Please enjoy! And feel free to share reactions, questions and comments below.
