Okay so perhaps younger members of my reading audience may not need this tip.  But those of us over 40 or so probably do. Remember the 'good ol' days' when spammers didn't call our cell phones?  When the pain in the butt was the calls on the land lines?

I have a friend, for example, in his 70's, who a few months ago was talking to me on his cell while delighting as his shiny new slammer spammer or whatever he called it was hanging up on spammers as he talked to me.  In fact, he was getting almost too much fun out of it!

I started to wonder too, this past year, about the increased spammy's to my cell.  I know that I am not alone. Consumer Reports confirms that robo calls to cell phones increased almost 60% in 2018.*

Sadly the scum of advertisers have found a way to get us on cell phones now!  And, as I learned taking an internet safety/security course for one of the contractors I work for recently, they are getting much savvier in how they try to trick us into giving them information.

So what is one to do?  Who wants to waste time with this nonsense?

Well I've begun to research and am trying an app.  I will let you know how it goes.  I also hear that phone companies, who no doubt are sick of our complaints, are going to start rolling out new technologies to help us.

Stay tuned...but, whatever you do, don't fall for the con artists, in your emails or phone calls.
